Learn About the Robinsons' History Through Their Family Scrapbook

Check Out the Robinson Family Scrapbook

The family histories of James and Anne Robinson go back generations in Maryland. Author Julie Dunlap has brought these stories to life through a diligently researched recreation of a Robinson Family scrapbook, "Our Story, James Robinson and Anne Short Robinson". This beautiful book is on display at both the Robinson Nature Center and the Robinson Foundation office in Columbia, Maryland.

Julie's research took her from the copper mines in Frederick, Maryland, to a tobacco plantation in southern Maryland. Four families — the Robinsons and the Bucklers on James Robinson's side and the Shorts and Eylers on Anne Robinson's side — were traced back to when they first immigrated to Maryland. The Robinsons' fascinating history is illustrated by photos from family archives as well as those unearthed from local historical societies. Julie's sensitive style takes you back to a time when Maryland was a land of opportunity, settled by an incredibly diverse group of immigrants.

We invite you to stop by the Nature Center and take a quiet moment to enjoy this beautiful tribute to Anne and James Robinson. You will appreciate the interesting family history that brought Anne and James to settle along the Middle Patuxent River.
